The stash....

Hi! My name is Jacki and I have an addition to fabric.

I don't know if there is a 12 step program for this so I have decided to change.

I have imposed a stash only rule.

Don't get me wrong, customers will always get what they want when ordering from Crafted by Mama on Etsy.

But for me...and my house....besides serving the Lord (Joshua 24:15)...I will shop first in my stash.

If you think that the average yard of cotton fabric is about $6 (closer to $10 if you buy heirloom quality quilting cotton)....you can see how a fabric stash is like stash of cash.

Well, it has been pretty easy...and then I needed bias tape for a dress for G (I was using fabric from my stash that I had purchased like 4 years ago..YAY!).

So I made it.

To make things even better, I made it from scrap fabric that I had used to make something else! BAM.

I don't like making bias tape, but I feel pretty good that I didn't give in and go buy some from the store (it costs $1.44 but still).

Now some pictures of my stash that I hope to only shop from for a while.

(From left to right: to be finished quilts, fat quarters, Riley Blake...yes Riley Blake fabrics get their own bin!)

(My main stash...lots of yardage in there)

(Most of my scrap fabric)

(My collection of premade bias tape and rik-rak)

Do you have a fabric stash? Have you ever imposed a stash only rule? How long did it last?
