Anyways... remember THIS tutorial yesterday? Well, I told ya to hang on to those legs because we are using them today!!!
1 jean leg
Elastic about 8-9 inches
Ribbon for hanging about 10 inches
First cut about 18 inches of jean leg.
Turn each end under about 1 inch (don't worry about a double turn hem because these won't be washed/worn like an article of clothing would).
Add your hanging ribbon to the widest end I just sewed each end of this ribbon (which came on some baskets I bought this summer) with a zig zag stitch.
Thread your elastic through the other end (that turned up 1 inch created your casing). Sew the elastic together and sew the opening close.
BAM done. Too easy huh? I think I got this done in about 5-10 minutes. You could easily do this with any fabric. Cut a piece of fabric 18 inches long by about 20 inches wide. Then sew up the side seam and follow the tutorial.
For those wondering...that is in our laundry room and next to the bag holder is my clothespin apron and a clothespin bag (we have a lot of clothespins).
Psalm 37:5 "Depend on the Lord; trust Him and He will take care of you."
I chose this verse for today because we reused something we had into two separate things (and I still have a whole leg and a little left over....hot pads anyone?). God has always provided for our family, when we struggle with worrying how we were going to pay for food, whether or not to have another baby and even something as wonderful as do we buy this house? I believe that with that provision..we need to good stewards of what He gives us. Mending our own clothes, passing down clothes or using clothes that are beyond repair for something else. He provided us with something, lets make the most of it. Learning how to cook to stretch the dollar HE GIVES YOU... learning how to make your own cleaners to clean the house HE GIVES YOU! I was often defeated when it came to the things that stay at home moms do. Then I dove into the word..we are talking about cannonball style..and He told me..this is the job I called you to do. Colossians 3:23 says "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for man." WOW. When you see it as looking for the Lord...you get such a burst of energy, such motivation, such inspiration...it will change your life.
God Bless. See ya tomorrow!
